A member of Kingston Parish Episcopal Church has donated the above truck to the auction. All proceeds of the auction shall go to Kingston Parish Episcopal Church and its ministries.
The auction will begin at 10:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) on Saturday, November 2, 2024, and will end at 9:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on November 18, 2024.
Oral History of Truck, which is Unverifiable Information
The current owner bought the truck from J.L., a member of Kingston Parish Episcopal Church. At the time of sale, J.L., who is now deceased, said he bought it from the military and the color was gray. J.L. painted it red. We do not know the actual mileage on the truck. The truck may have been used on a Navy military base, possibly Naval Station Norfolk. It is our understanding that the gray color is consistent with Navy military trucks in the 1960s. The VIN plate (picture above) verifies the truck was manufactured in May 1965 in Norfolk, VA for the U.S. government, but we have no further verifiable information as to which branch of the U.S. government.
